Well actually just two days ago I went down to Vancouver to attend the First Annual Student Congress BC. It was seriously the best leadership trip i have ever been on and was absolutely amazing. From getting to meet Gordon Campbell and him giving us all individually his card all the way down to just getting to sit in the hall and converse with other students. We were able to share some really amazing ideas on the environment, community leadership, aboriginal leadership, health, and also the school system. There were a lot of great ideas thrown around but one of the things I think could be better is next time maybe allow the congress to go on for 2 days so there is actually enough time to converse about one subject. As well I think one of the issues really pressing public schools right now is substance abuse which is and has been on the rise for a long time. Realistically i think if we have the time to discuss our health or the environment why are we leaving out such important issues as drug and alcohol abuse by our peers. But on the whole it was a amazing experience and a good time.
